Lucien Leclerc established in 1872 ‘Domaine Leclerc’ in Cumières near Epernay. The basis was i.a. the vineyards that Lucien’s wife, Adèle, had brought in dowry when they got married. For many years, the winery produced domain bottled champagnes and wines, which were delivered to larger companies in the area.

Lucien Leclerc established in 1872 ‘Domaine Leclerc’ in Cumières near Epernay. The basis was i.a. the vineyards that Lucien’s wife, Adèle, had brought in dowry when they got married. For many years, the winery produced domain bottled champagnes and wines, which were delivered to larger companies in the area. In 1955, Bertrand Leclerc (4th generation) and his wife Jacqueline Briant expanded the family business to include a ‘négoce’, where they bought grapes or wines from selected neighboring producers through firm agreements with them. The company name was simultaneously changed to ‘Maison Leclerc-Briant’.
